Across Connecticut, Lions are united in their commitment to supporting children and families affected by childhood cancer. Through hands-on service, fundraising, and statewide partnerships, Lions clubs in Districts 23A, 23B, and 23Cturn compassion into action — bringing hope, comfort, and tangible support to families facing the fight of their lives.
Connecticut Lions proudly participate statewide as part of St. Baldrick’s Team Lions, supporting the mission of the St. Baldrick’s Foundation — the largest private funder of childhood cancer research grants.
Across all three districts, Lions:
Participate in St. Baldrick’s head-shaving and fundraising events
Raise funds dedicated to childhood cancer research
Increase public awareness of pediatric cancer
Stand in solidarity with children, families, and survivors
This unified effort demonstrates how Lions across Connecticut come together — regardless of district — to support lifesaving research and better outcomes for children.
Connecticut Lions also support families staying at the Ronald McDonald House of New Haven through the can-tab collection program — a simple act that creates meaningful impact.
Lions clubs across the state collect aluminum can tabs and donate them to the Ronald McDonald House, where proceeds help:
Offset operational costs for families staying near hospitalized children
Support housing, meals, and essential services
Ease the financial burden during long hospital stays
What may seem small — a single can tab — becomes powerful when collected statewide. Through this ongoing project, Lions help ensure families can stay close to their children during treatment without added financial stress.
In addition to St. Baldrick’s and Ronald McDonald House support, Connecticut Lions further serve children and families by:
Leading awareness campaigns and educational outreach
Creating comfort kits, care packages, and encouragement cards
Partnering with hospitals, schools, and youth organizations
Engaging Leos and youth volunteers in meaningful service
These efforts reinforce the Lions promise: families facing childhood cancer are never alone.
Together, Connecticut Lions:
Raise critical funds for childhood cancer research
Provide direct support to families during treatment
Engage communities in compassionate service
Turn small actions into statewide impact
This collective commitment reflects the strength of Lions service — local hands, statewide heart.
